Beacon Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 15, 2026

Beacon helps people reframe self-doubt, keep reflection history, track progress, learn confidence skills, and optionally share supportive content with the community. This means Beacon may process personal and sensitive text you choose to enter, including thoughts, journal entries, reframes, and community posts. We do not sell your personal information or use it for third-party advertising.

1. Who We Are

This Privacy Policy explains how Beacon ("Beacon", "we", "us", and "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the Beacon mobile app, website, support channels, and related services.

If you have questions or requests about this policy, contact us at support@beaconcoach.app.

3. Sensitive Content You Choose to Enter

Beacon is designed for reflection, so the thoughts, journal entries, and community content you enter may include sensitive personal information. Please do not submit information you are not comfortable processing through Beacon and its service providers.

Beacon is not a medical, therapy, emergency, or crisis service. If you are in immediate danger or may harm yourself or someone else, call your local emergency number. In the United States, you can call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

4. How AI Processing Works

Beacon uses Supabase Edge Functions to send relevant user-provided content and context to AI providers, currently Anthropic, to generate reframes, affirmations, and pattern insights. The content sent may include your original thought, recent reframe history, pattern data, and related progress context when needed to produce the feature you request.

AI outputs can be incomplete, incorrect, or inappropriate. We use safety prompts and crisis routing, but you should not rely on Beacon as professional, medical, legal, financial, or emergency advice.

5. How We Use Information

6. Service Providers and Sharing

We share information with service providers only as needed to operate Beacon. These providers process information according to their own policies and our configuration of their services.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate abuse, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

7. Community and Anonymous Sharing

If you choose to share a reframe anonymously or post in community spaces, other users may see the content. "Anonymous" means your public profile details are not shown to other users, but Beacon may still keep internal identifiers so we can moderate content, investigate reports, and enforce safety rules.

Do not share content that identifies another person without permission or content you would not want other users to read.

8. App Store Privacy Disclosure Summary

For App Store privacy disclosures, Beacon may collect the following types of data, depending on which features a user uses:

Beacon does not use collected data for third-party advertising tracking.

9. Data Retention

We keep account information and saved content while your account is active or as needed to provide Beacon. You can request deletion by using the delete account option in the app or by contacting support.

Account deletion is designed to remove your Supabase Auth user and app data tied to that user. Some information may remain for a limited time in backups, logs, security records, payment records, or legal records. Community content may be removed, anonymized, or retained if needed for safety, abuse prevention, or legal reasons.

10. Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including authenticated access, row-level security, server-side Edge Functions, and rate-limit/audit controls. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed.

11. Your Choices and Rights

To make a privacy request, email support@beaconcoach.app.

12. Children

Beacon is not intended for children under 13. If local law requires a higher age or parental consent for use of online services, you must meet that requirement before using Beacon.

13. International Processing

Beacon and its providers may process and store information in countries other than where you live. Those countries may have data protection laws different from your own.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users, such as by updating the date above, posting an in-app notice, or sending an email.
